Engines

Two Rotax 582 Ul DCDI w/electric starters and two-cycle oil injection.  Both engines were completely torn down and inspected by The Ulralight Center, Cadillac, Michigan, in July – August 2005,  by a certified Rotax Mechanic/Inspector, Joe Grahek.  Primarily found in good condition (after plane had been stored for an extended time)  The pistons were replaced eith ceramic top plated pistons with Teflon applied for re break-in.  Bearings, cylinders and rings were found in A-1 condition.  All gasketsand seals were replaced, and a water pump conversion kit was installed on each engine to ensure no leakage of water / antifreeze into engines’ internal areas.  The type B gearboxes were inspected and foun to be in good condition.  Comment by Mr Grahek was “in A-1 Plus” condition for both engines.

Panel

Com Radio Terra TX 760D; Transponder Terra tRT-250;  Altimeter, Airspeed, VSI, Compass, Hobbs meter,  Sigtronics SPA-4000 TSO Intercom with standard ports at both seats.  (PTT at both seats)  Engine gauges; Tachometer (dual) , Water Temperature (acts as CHT gauges)  EGT gauges (dual – and for each cylinder)  Dual fuel gauges for each of the two tanks.

Electrical

Voltmeter, Landing Light, Strobes, Nav Lights, Flaps and Trim tabs with trim gauge, full set of breakers and an ELT test button

Preformance

Typically 1100 fpm climb (from short takeoff run).  Cruise 75-80 mph for four hours maximum.  Tanks (2 separate – fone for each engine) each holding 14 gallons.  Regular auto gas – 87 octane or above.  The Air Cam will take off and fly on one engine.  Floats – typically LOTus – can be added.  We are using AV2 two –cycle oil, recommended by California Power Supply testing.
